A collage I made on saturday. I tore out all the really embarassing stuff I wrote in my journal when I was 15 & cut them all up & pasted them in my art journal. I was feeling really really moody and stressed up that day so doing this was really therapeutic.

A quick sketch of Thom that I did during the holidays. I haven't been drawing for quite awhile so this isn't very good. =/

Another Thom sketch I did which is far from complete. Haven't had the time to finish it.

HAPPY 41st BIRTHDAY THOM!!! ♥

Thank you for making great music over the years. You are an amazing genius and a wonderful human being. You're one of my heroes and I admire you a lot for your intelligence and for being active in environmental and social issues. I hope you had a great day today. =)

FULL BAND HARROWDOWN HILL. IT'S FUCKING AMAZING.

I was feeling really shitty last night & watching this video cheered me up a lot. I can't stop watching it! I really love the chemistry between Thom & Flea & it's obvious that they enjoyed performing together that night. It's also great to see Thom so energetic & happy. This band is fucking incredible!

So... a few days ago Thom Yorke announced that he formed a new band to perform his solo music live. Flea's in the band.

I'm a huge fan of both Radiohead & Red Hot Chili Peppers so I'm really really excited about this whole thing! I know a lot of people think that this is a really odd combination, but I don't really find it that surprising. Flea has collaborated with many artists like Patti Smith, Young MC, Alanis Morissette, The Mars Volta and a million others that I can't remember right now and besides bass he plays the trumpet too.

I notice lots of supergroups have been popping up lately... Chickenfoot, Them Crooked Vultures, & now this.

NEIL GAIMAN & AMANDA PALMER ARE COMING TO SINGAPORE.

Not gonna lie, I'm actually more excited to see Amanda than Neil. I'm more of an Amanda fan. & you know the crazy thing is that just last week I was actually fantasizing about meeting Amanda. I never thought that I would ever have the opportunity to meet her but ZOMG I DO NOW.

Man, I am so excited. But I'm also really nervous too. I heard that she's really, really nice to fans & would take the time to meet & greet them. I'm most likely gonna ask for her autograph, & if possible I would like to talk a little to her too. But I'm so scared that I'd be too starstuck to say anything or that if I do manage to say something she wouldn't be able to hear what I'm saying. Gah, I dunno.

Er, for those of y'all reading who have no idea who the hell I'm talking about, here's the music video of one of my favourite Amanda Palmer songs. A bit of a warning though, this is quite a controversial video as the song is about rape & abortion from the perspective of a teenager.

& here's a cute video of Amanda singing "Creep" to Neil.

You know, I hate writing first posts for new blogs. I always have no idea what to write.

But I can't just leave this blog empty so... I guess I'll do a little introduction. I'm Rachel, but you probably already knew that. I love writing, & that's why I'm here. I suffer from a little-known & often misunderstood social anxiety disorder called Selective Mutism. I may be quiet, but I have a lot to say. Through this blog, I hope to share my many thoughts & opinions which I often keep to myself. I also hope to share my experience & struggles with being selectively mute.

Besides writing, I love art. It's another creative outlet for me to express myself nonverbally. I guess I'll post some of my art here every now & then.

Anyway, that's just a short introduction of me. Thanks for reading.
